Michael Mesick, age 31, of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, in Hampden County, was arrested around noon Monday, June 14, after the homeowner interrupted an active burglary in his home in Windsor Locks.
After being caught in the home, and as Windsor Locks police converged on the area, Mesick fled, traveling at a high rate of speed making it impossible for a pursuit, said the Windsor Locks Police.
Officers were able to keep track of Mesick as he avoided a stop-stick by driving onto a lawn, police said.
Mesick kept driving on Route 159 and entered a farm with officers moving into the farm as well. After a search, he was apprehended several hundred yards into the property without incident.
Mesick was charged with:
- Burglary
- Larceny
- Reckless driving
- Disobeying officer signal
He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
